Tortello is a family owned Italian restaurant and handmade Pastificio, specializing in fresh pastas every day, located in Wicker Park, Chicago.

This casual, counter service restaurant, does not take reservations so we arrived right when it opened for lunch to ensure we got a spot. Little did we know, we'd be the first to arrive. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

What we ordered:

  • Chiusoni alla Gallurese (like a gnocchi and sausage cream sauce)

  • Cacio e Pepe

  • Foccacia Bread, Ricotta & Honey

Price: $-$$

While the breads and salads were about average $6-$15, the pastas were in the mid $20 range. This makes sense as this is homemade pasta being made every day.

Overall, the pastas and bread were amazing. The ricotta and honey combo was delicious and I’m not even a big fan of cheese spreads! You definitely have to order it. The pastas seemed to be cooked al dente, so if that's not your style, you may have to specify. You can also take homemade pasta and sauces to go.
