Athena is a Greek restaurant with an open roof, located in Greektown in Chicago.
It’s pretty easy to get a last minute reservation here, but this restaurant has always been full when I’ve been here. Make your reservation here.
What we ordered:
Greek Fries (topped with feta and oregano)
Saganaki
Greek Salad
Athenian Chicken
Pork Kebab
Avgo Lemono (lemony chicken soup with rice)
Baklava
Price: $-$$
Salads, sides, and appetizers are mainly under $10, with some pricier ones under $20. Main dishes and meats also stay under $20 with some pricier items above. Plates aren’t small and can definitely be shared.
Overall, this place is the most fun during warmer weather when the roof is open, but the food is great all year round. Ive never been to Greece, but the owners and staff bring the traditions alive. You can come here for date night or with a group of people. I recommend sharing a handful of plates with your party so you can try a bunch of different dishes, especially if you’re new to Greek food. The menu has lots of options to choose from.
